What is thePoint?
Today’s cities use a computer mapping tool called, geographic information system (GIS), to store, analyze, manage and present various types of spatial or geographic data. “thePoint” is the City of High Point’s on-line interactive web map that provides GIS data in a useful format. For example, it provides property specific geographic information regarding owners, zoning, environmental features, service areas, and voting districts.

What is BuildHighPoint.com?
BuildHighPoint.com is a web-based development guide that is maintained by the City of High Point, North Carolina to provide guidance to construction and development professionals, as well as homeowners, regarding the approval processes associated with land development and building construction.

What is Accela Citizen Access (ACA)?
All applications for land development and building construction approvals are reviewed and processed using Accela software. ACA is the access portal citizens can use to apply and submit their application, make payments, request inspections, and obtain approvals. Applications are searchable and viewable.

Likewise, the homeowners section provides guidance on the most common homeowner projects.
